2005 Summer Camps

Priddis View Farms will be offering three to four camps in the summer. These camps are planned to be held during the second and fourth weeks in July and the first and third weeks in August.

The camps run Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, which is the perfect fit around parents work schedules. The camps are designed to fit each individual riders needs, but are more suited to the inexperienced or novice riders, of course we welcome any level of rider, as there is always something to be learned when it comes to horses and their care.

These camps are designed for students to learn and appreciate every aspect of horse care, stable management, horsemanship, pasture care, and, of course, horse riding techniques.

The students cover many aspects of horse care: what types of feed is good or bad for horses and why, the vast array of grooming materials that are best suited to a variety of horses, lungeing techniques and the importance of developing good ground manners, tack cleaning and its value, "behind the scenes" barn maintenance, and the final part of learning

how to prepare for a show. The students definitely learn to appreciate and respect every aspect of overall horse care!

The riding portion of the camp includes a variety of riding disciplines, including dressage, hunters, jumpers, 3-day eventing/horse trials, endurance riding, and of course, vaulting. Each lesson is taught by well-trained coaches and trainers, and on safe school horses, which are mainly retired show horses. Each student-horse match is carefully thought out to ensure a very successful and joyful week of riding.

The camps are fun and educational for every participant and camper - Sign Up Now!
